Ivica Maksimovic

Ivica Maksimovic (* 1953 in Zrenjanin , SFR Yugoslavia , today Serbia ) is a German communication designer and former rector of the Saar College of Fine Arts in Saarbrücken .

Life

Maksimovic came to Germany with his family in 1962. In 1976/77 he studied basic training with Oskar Holweck at the Saarland University of Applied Sciences in the field of design and from 1977 to 1980 communication design with Peter von Kornatzki at the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences in the field of design . After completing his studies, he worked between 1980 and 1985 as art director at the advertising agencies GGK in Düsseldorf and Lürzer, Conrad & Leo Burnett and Young & Rubicam in Frankfurt am Main . Until 1989 he was creative director and member of the management at the advertising agency RSCG, Butter, Rang in Düsseldorf.

In 1989 he became professor for visual communication at the HBK Saar and at the same time founded his own agency Maksimovic & Partners , which existed until 2015. His customers included Braun , T + A , the state government of Saarland, the state capital and the Saarbrücken public utilities , Bank 1 Saar , SR 3 and many more. The works have received several awards, including the gold, silver or bronze medal of the Art Directors Club , the British D&AD Award, the New York Festival Finalist Award and the Red Dot Design Award . Well-known colleagues were the photographers Michael Ehrhart , André Mailänder and the copywriter Ono Mothwurf.

From October 1, 2004 to October 1, 2013 he was rector of the HBK Saar and from 2009 to 2011 the spokesman for the Rectors' Conference of the German Art Universities (RKK).
