Iwan Alexandrowitsch Ignatjew ( Russian Иван Александрович Игнатьев ; English transcription: Ivan Aleksandrovich Ignatyev ; born January 6, 1999 in Achinsk ) is a Russian football player who has been under contract with the first division club Rubin Kazan since January 2020 . The striker has been Russia's U21 international since August 2017 .

Ivan Ignatjew, who was born in Achinsk , started playing football at the local TF Achinsk and in January 2012 he moved to the youth department of FK Krasnodar . In the 2015/16 season he played for the first time in the reserve team FK Krasnodar-2, but was mostly only in the U20 team in the following years. There he was top scorer in the 2016/17 season with 21 goals this season.

On July 27, 2017, he made his debut in a 2-1 home win in the UEFA Europa League qualifier against Lyngby BK in the first team, but was already substituted for Cristian Ramírez at half-time . On August 10, 2017 (5th matchday), he played his first game in the top Russian division in a 3-2 away win against Akhmat Grozny and scored the decisive winner in the 92nd minute. His breakthrough came in the UEFA Youth League this season when he scored a total of nine goals in two victories against the U19 teams of Kairat Almaty and Honvéd Budapest . He scored a total of ten goals in this competition, making him the tournament's top scorer. In the U20 Premjer League he showed excellent performance with 19 goals and seven assists and was again the top scorer, while he was used in six competitive games of the first team, in which he scored three goals.

In the following season 2018/19 he established himself as a regular player in the first team. He ended the season with seven goals and three assists, which he was able to collect in 20 league games. On July 27, 2019 (3rd matchday), he managed a brace in a 3-0 home win against FK Sochi . However, he did not make his breakthrough as a goalscorer this season, he only scored four times in 13 league games and due to an injury he missed a month and a half from mid-September 2019.

On December 28, 2019, his move to league rival Rubin Kazan was announced, who paid a transfer fee of seven million euros and provided him with a four and a half year contract. He made his debut on March 1, 2020 (20th match day) in a 0-0 draw against FK Tambov .

National team

In March 2014, Ivan Ignatiev played two international matches for the Russian U15 national team , in which he scored a goal. Between August 2014 and June 2015 he scored two goals in six games for the U16s . He then played in eight U17 games until March 2016 , in which he scored three goals.

From August 2016 to April 2017 he scored as many goals in 13 international matches for the U18s , including a four-pack in a 4-1 friendly win against the Czech Republic . In September and November 2017 he made three international matches for the U19s , in which he scored four goals.

He has been in action for the U21 for the first time since August 2017 .
