Cristian Leonel Ramírez Zambrano (born August 12, 1994 in Santo Domingo de los Colorados ) is an Ecuadorian football player .

Career

Cristian Ramírez began his career in 2008 with Club Social, Cultural y Deportivo Brasilia and moved to the first division club Independiente José Terán on August 18, 2009. At Independiente he made his professional debut on April 28, 2011 in the Ecuadorian Serie A against El Nacional Quito . In August 2011 he took part in a trial training session with the then German champions Borussia Dortmund . In Dortmund he was scheduled for the U-19 Bundesliga when the contract was signed . Because he could not convince there, he returned to Ecuador.

In January 2013, he impressed in another trial training at Fortuna Düsseldorf and signed a contract with the Bundesliga club until the end of June 2016 at the end of January 2013. Due to his debut at Fortuna, the tabloid Express awarded him the names "Ecuadorian bird of paradise " and "little giant ". After being loaned to 1. FC Nürnberg in the summer of 2014 , Ramírez also moved on loan to the Hungarian record champions Ferencváros Budapest at the end of January 2015 , who signed him on June 1, 2015. At the beginning of January 2017, he moved to the Russian Premier League for FK Krasnodar . On February 16, Ramírez made his first appearance for the Russian club in the sixteenth-finals of the 2016/17 UEFA Europa League against Fenerbahçe Istanbul .

International

He played for the Ecuadorian U-17 in four games at the 2011 U-17 World Cup in Mexico and the 2011 Sudamericano Sub-17 in Ecuador. In January 2013 he played six games with the Ecuadorian selection at the Sudamericano Sub-20 (South American U-20 championship) in Argentina .

On May 14, 2014, he was appointed to the provisional squad of the Ecuadorian national team for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil .
