Ivan Dmitrievich Soltanovsky

Ivan Dmitrijewitsch Soltanowski ( Russian Иван Дмитриевич Солтановский ; born April 6, 1955 in Leningrad ) is a Russian diplomat who has been the permanent representative of the Russian Foreign Minister at the Council of Europe since October 1, 2015 with the office of the executive of this subject of international law .

Life

In 1977 he graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations and in 1990 from the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USSR. (Predecessor institute of the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation .) He studied history and speaks English, French, German and Urdu. In 1977 he joined the foreign service.

From 1977 to 1993 he was employed in the South Being (Pakistan and India) department. From 1993 to 1996 he was a delegation counselor in the security and armaments department. From 1996 to 2000 he was a delegation counselor to the Permanent Mission of Russia to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe in Vienna. From 2000 to 2003 he was deputy head of the security and armaments department. From 2003 to 2009 he was Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the North Atlantic Council in Brussels . From 2009 to 2011 he was Deputy Head of the Europe Department. From 2011 to 2015 he headed the Europe department . On October 1, 2015, Vladimir Putin , with his 497th presidential decree of 2015, removed Alexander Alexejew from the position of permanent representative of the Russian Foreign Minister to the Council of Europe, and with the 498th decree he appointed Ivan Soltanovsky for this task.
