Ivan Velev ( Bulgarian Иван Велев ; born September 28, 1989 ) is a Bulgarian ice hockey player who has been playing in the Bulgarian ice hockey league for HK CSKA Sofia since 2011 .

Career

Ivan Welew began his career as a hockey player in the youth department of the HK Slavia Sofia . Since 2011 he has been playing for HK CSKA Sofia in the Bulgarian ice hockey league . With CSKA he was Bulgarian champion and cup winner in 2013 and 2014 .

International

In the youth field, Welew took part in the U18 World Championships in Division III in 2004 , 2005 and 2006 and the qualification for the U18 World Cup in 2007 when the Bulgarians failed in Turkey , as well as in the U20 World Championships in 2005 , 2006 , 2007 and 2008 in Division III part.

Vasilev made his debut in his country's men's selection at the 2014 World Cup , when the Bulgarians were promoted from Division III to Division II.
