Career

In 2005, Ivan Tutukin finished fourth at the Junior Triathlon World Championships in Japan.

In the 2009 World Championship Series ( ITU World Championship Series 2009 ), he finished 38th.

In June he became national champion in the triathlon middle distance and in August he won the Ironman 70.3 Gdynia. In the same month, Tutukin also became the Russian duathlon champion three weeks later.

Doping allegation 2016

At the end of August 2016, it became known that a doping test in April found meldonium . The National Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) did not issue a ban after consultations, as Tutukin stated that he had stopped taking it in October 2015 and that the drug has only been on the doping ban list since January 2016.

At the Ironman Barcelona in October he finished second in the long distance (3.86 km swimming, 180.2 km cycling and 42.195 km running).

5th place Ironman European Championships 2017

In July 2017, Tutukin came fifth in Frankfurt am Main at Ironman Germany (Ironman European Championships).

In April 2018, he was able to improve his best time in the North American Championship by twelve minutes, finishing second in Ironman Texas after 7:39:57 hours, just 32 seconds behind the American Matt Hanson and thus having the third fastest time of the best list of triathletes on the Ironman distance . After the race it became known that the bike course was shortened by three kilometers and that the times would therefore not be recognized as official Ironman records.
