The Jägersruh-Lautgrund-Mulschwitzen nature reserve is located in the Saale-Orla district in Thuringia . It extends northeast of the core town of the market town of Nordhalben . The Rodach flows through the area. The Franconian Muschwitz flows on the southwestern edge and the Thuringian Muschwitz on the southeastern edge . The state border with Bavaria runs along the western and southern edges .
