The Buchenberg bei Krölpa nature reserve is located in the area of the town of Ranis in the Saale-Orla district in Thuringia . It extends east of the core town of Krölpa . The B 281 runs north, the Kotschaubach , a left tributary of the Orla , also flows north. The state road L 2367 runs west and the L 1104 east.
