Career

The son of footballer Pierre Alonzo started his professional career in 1990 with the then French second division club OGC Nice , for which he played for five years and promoted to Ligue 1 with him in 1994 . He signed his first professional contract in 1991. In the summer of 1995, he moved to Olympique Marseille , where he immediately became number one and was able to gain a promotion place with his club at the end of the season. In the 1996/97 season he lost his regular place to newcomer Andreas Köpke and after two years in Marseille he signed for the 1997/98 season with AS Saint-Étienne in the second division, where he guarded the gate until 2001. With AS he was able to win Ligue 2 in 1999 and rose with the team to the French upper house. After three years he turned his back on Étienne and then signed with the French capital club Paris Saint-Germain . In 2004 and 2006 the French Cup was won, in 2003 and 2008 they reached the final more times, but had to admit defeat. After the goalkeeper guarded the goal of the Parisians in the final match of 2003, he was replaced by Lionel Letizi in the following years . Only in 2008, in the 1-0 defeat in the final against Olympique Lyon , Alonzo was back between the posts of his team. After seven years in Paris, he left PSG in the 2008/09 season and signed a new contract with FC Nantes . Before leaving Paris, he was able to win the Coupe de la Ligue with the team . In Nantes, Alonzo prevailed over Tony Heurtebis and became number one between the posts of his new employer. After relegation in 2009, he remained loyal to his club in Ligue 2 and ended his career in 2010.
