József Bondor

József Bondor (born January 9, 1917 in Élesd , Bihor County , Romania ; † July 5, 1981 in Budapest ) was a Hungarian politician of the party of the Hungarian working people MDP (Magyar Dolgozók Pártja) and finally the Hungarian Socialist Workers Party MSZMP (Magyar Szocialista Munkáspárt ) , who was Minister for Construction and Urban Development between 1968 and 1977.

Life

Bondor completed vocational training as a bricklayer after attending school and then worked in this profession in Romania. During this time he was involved in the construction workers' union and also became a member of the Romanian Social Democratic Party, PSD ( Partitul Social Democrat ) . In 1945 he moved to Hungary, where he also became a member of the Social Democratic Party MSZDP (Magyarországi Szociáldemokrata Párt) . Shortly afterwards he became secretary of the MSZDP in the small area of ​​Sárbogárd and then organizational secretary of the MSZDP city leadership of Székesfehérvár , before he was secretary of the MSZDP between 1947 and 1950 and of the party of the Hungarian working people MDP (Magyar Dolgozók Pártja) in Semplin county, which emerged in 1948 .

Then Bondor became second secretary of the MDP in the newly created Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county in 1950 and director of the civil engineering authority in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county in 1951 and then director of the State Construction Company Josef Stalin in 1952 . During the 1950s he completed a degree in architecture at the Technical University of Budapest BME (Budapesti Műszaki Egyetem) and became chief engineer of the Budapest City Council in October 1961 and then Vice-Chairman of the Budapest City Council in 1963 and thus Deputy Mayor .

In the meantime, he was elected Member of Parliament (Országgyűlés) on November 16, 1958 , where he initially represented the list of the Patriotic Popular Front HNF (Hazafias Népfront) of Fejér County and then from January 28, 1967 the list of the HNF of Budapest, before he last represented the 1st constituency of Fejér County from June 15, 1975 until his death on July 5, 1981 .

Building minister and member of the Central Committee

Between January 15, 1965 and March 22, 1968, he was Deputy Minister for Construction and Urban Development and, between 1965 and 1967, head of the General Directorate for Construction.

On March 22, 1968 Bondor was appointed Minister for Construction and Urban Development (Építésügyi és Városfejlesztési Miniszter) in the government of Prime Minister Jenő Fock and held this ministerial office in the cabinet of Prime Minister György Lázár until he was replaced by Kálmán Ábrahám on June 24, 1977 .

During this time he was on March 22, 1975 on the XI. Party Congress also elected a member of the Central Committee (Z) of the MSZMP, to which he was appointed until the XII. Party Congress on March 27, 1980.
