József Breznay (born September 20, 1916 in Budapest ; † February 18, 2012 there ) was a Hungarian painter .

Life

Breznay studied from 1934 to 1939 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Budapest with Bertalan Karlovszky, Ágost Benkhárd, Rezső Burghardt and István Szőnyi , whose assistant he was in 1938 and 1939. As a multiple winner of the state Rome Prize , he completed several study visits to Italy between 1939 and 1941.
