Jörn-Ulrich Bachmann (born May 14, 1925 at Gut Kronshof in Kogel , West Mecklenburg ; † January 10, 1989 in Deutsch Evern ) was a German administrative lawyer.

Life

Bachmann's father was a sea captain Herbert Bachmann (crew 1906), admiral of the Norwegian north coast . The grandfather was Admiral Gustav Bachmann (crew 1879). The brother Jochen Bachmann (crew X / 37) fell in December 1939 as an ensign at sea on the fleet attendant F 9. The brother Heinrich Bachmann (crew IV / 37) fell in April 1943 as a lieutenant captain on the torpedo boat T 29.

Education

Jörn-Ulrich Bachmann was drafted into emergency service in 1943 and joined the Navy as a midshipman in Crew I / 44 . He still passed the main naval officer examination and was discharged as an ensign at sea. In 1946 he came to his parents, who now lived in Aurich . The sister married to Canada. Bachmann passed the Abitur examination at the Ulricianum grammar school in 1946 . He began to study law at the University of Zurich and became a member of the Cimbria (or Cheruscia) association. In the winter semester of 1951/52 he moved to the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel . When he needed gun protection , he joined Corps Saxonia Kiel . Attracted by corps students, he put down the Zurich ribbon. Already a trainee lawyer and doctoral student, he was reciprocated by Saxonia on December 18, 1952 . Shortly before, Saxonia had decided not to live as an intellectual elite club, but rather to live according to the ideals of the Kösener Seniors Convents Association . Bachmann made a major contribution to ensuring that these principles and this way of life were practiced in the Corps . As a brilliant fencer, he fought two lengths on a certain day - one on the right, one on the left, both with rejection on the opposite side. In the summer semester 1953 he was with Klaus-Jürgen Dierig and Hinrich von Zeddelmann Chargierter . Saxonia was then the presiding suburb corps.

Lower Saxony

In 1954 he was awarded a Dr. iur. PhD. After he had passed the Great State Examination in Law in 1955, he was accepted into the administrative service of Lower Saxony and employed in Hanover and Hildesheim. In 1960 he was elected senior district director in the Soltau district for 12 years . The district erected a beautiful office building for him in the spacious park of the district office, in which the four children had a happy childhood. Then he was a lawyer and notary in Lüneburg . In Deutsch Evern he had bought a large plot of land. At the entrance the flag of the Kiel Saxons waved. From 1968 to 1981 he was chairman of Saxonia's old manors . The annual Heidetreffen, which he had set up as an autumn event with Georg Bacmeister, was very popular. He remained connected to a Soltau equestrian community throughout his life. In 1968 he was one of the founders of Trans-Ocean . He was the first chairman for over 21 years, until his death. Since July 1957 he was a member of the Navy Officers Association (No. 5063). In the German navy , he was after several military exercises for Lieutenant d. R. promoted.

Marriages

He was married to Theda Jacoba Dieken from Aurich since 1959. The marriage has two daughters and two sons. Theda Bachmann died in an accident in February 1978. Bachmann's second marriage was with Marietta Hintze. Having had two operations, he died of carcinoma at the age of 63 . 400 people came to the memorial service, including 40 Saxons from Kiel. Four horsemen and four Saxons from Kiel kept the guard of honor at the coffin. The sermon of his corps brother Rudolf Quitte and the speeches were broadcast with loudspeakers on the square in front of the cemetery chapel.
