Jewish cemetery (Külsheim)
The Jewish cemetery Külsheim is a Jewish cemetery in Külsheim , a town in the Main-Tauber district in northern Baden-Württemberg .
history
The Jewish cemetery in the east of the city, on the road to Steinbach , has an area of 59.77 acres . The origin of the cemetery goes back to at least 1600. Today there are 921 tombstones left . The oldest tombstone is from 1695, the last burial took place in 1938.
The Külsheimer Friedhof served as an association cemetery for the Jewish communities of Külsheim, Gissigheim , Königheim , Tauberbischofsheim , Hochhausen and Hardheim . In 1875 the cemetery was closed for use by the Jewish communities outside of Germany due to a lack of space. These had to create their own cemeteries.
