Wenkheim Jewish cemetery
The Jewish cemetery Wenkheim is a Jewish cemetery in Wenkheim , a district of the municipality of Werbach in Main-Tauber-Kreis in northern Baden-Württemberg .
At the end of the 16th century , a cemetery was set up east of the town in the Gewann Großer Wald , now directly on the border between Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria . The Jewish cemetery has an area of 55.80 ares and today there are 674 tombstones . The oldest gravestone is from 1714, the last burial took place in 1939.
The dead from Bavarian border communities, for example from Geroldshausen , Oberaltertheim and Unteraltertheim , were also buried in the cemetery .
