Jewish cemetery (Mehring)
The Jewish cemetery Mehring is a cemetery in Mehring , a municipality in the district of Trier-Saarburg in Rhineland-Palatinate .
The Jewish cemetery is located on the western outskirts at an altitude. It can be reached in the vineyards from Kapellenweg / Auf Zellerberg. There are only three gravestone plinths left. A wall surrounds the cemetery property.
history
The cemetery was probably created in the 19th century. During the Nazi era it was desecrated , destroyed and completely cleared away. A memorial plaque "In memory of our deceased Jewish fellow citizens - The living as a warning - Mehring community 2016" was re-erected in 2016 and replaced an older memorial stone .
