history

The cemetery was laid out in the middle of the 19th century and was occupied from 1855 to 1938. At times it was also occupied by the Jewish families living in Datterode who had previously buried their dead in Reichensachsen .

Old graveyard

The first Jewish cemetery was located in the “Krückholz” corridor below the “Schulklopes” on the Netra-Röhrda border to the northwest of the village. This cemetery, which was in use until the middle of the 19th century and of which no traces have survived today, was probably a common cemetery for the Jewish families who lived in the northern Ringgau .
