Jürgen Ganzer

Jürgen Ganzer (born August 6, 1950 in Potsdam ) is a German composer and accordionist . He is a professor of composition and instrumentation at the Hanns Eisler University of Music in Berlin .

Life

Ganzer attended the Hanns Eisler Special School for Music in Berlin from 1965 to 1969 . From 1969 to 1975 he studied composition with Wolfram Heicking and accordion with Christine Boll and Hans Boll at the Hanns Eisler Music Academy in Berlin.

He worked as a freelance composer, teacher , répétiteur and arranger a . a. at the Volksbühne Berlin , the Berliner Ensemble and Friedrichstadtpalast . In doing so, he focused on songs , chansons and folklore . From 1979 he gave concerts in an accordion duo and in world music ensembles . Completely composed electronic music , chamber music , film ( Die Wokrenterstraße , 1986), theater and radio play music . He dedicated himself in particular to the guitar and the accordion.

From 1983 until the fall of the Berlin Wall he was a member of the Competition Commission of the Central Accordion Commission of the GDR. In 1996 he was jury chairman of the International Accordion Competition Coupe Mondiale of the Confédération Internationale des Accordeonistes (CIA, IMC- UNESCO ). He has been teaching at the Berlin Conservatory since 1978. In 1988 he became a lecturer for composition and composition and in 1993 professor for composition and instrumentation.
