Jürgen Gehb (born August 9, 1952 in Heringen (Werra) ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

From 1998 to 2009 he was a member of the German Bundestag and from 2005 to 2009 legal policy spokesman for the CDU / CSU parliamentary group . From August 16, 2010 to the end of February 2018, he was spokesman for the board of the Federal Agency for Real Estate Tasks (BImA).

Life and work

After graduating from the Werratal School in Heringen in 1971, Gehb did his military service and from 1974 studied law at the Philipps University in Marburg , which he completed in 1977 with the first state examination in law. After the subsequent legal internship , he passed the second state examination in 1980 .

He then worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Procedural Law at the University of Marburg. In 1981 he was appointed judge on probation at the Kassel Administrative Court and in 1983 he was appointed judge at the Administrative Court. From 1983 to 1986 Gehb was seconded to the State Court of Hesse as a research assistant . In 1986 he did his doctorate at the University of Göttingen with the thesis Constitution, Responsibilities and Proceedings of the Hessian State Court . In 1988 Gehb was appointed judge at the Hessian Administrative Court. He has been an independent lawyer since 1997 . With effect from August 16, 2010, the Federal President appointed Gehb as spokesman for the board of the Federal Agency for Real Estate Tasks.

Jürgen Gehb is married and has two children. He is a member of the Rotary Club and was a table tennis player when he was a student . a. at ESV Jahn Kassel , where he got his clerkship position with the help of a judge who was engaged there.

Honorary positions

In 2011 Gehb became a member of the supervisory board of DSK Deutsche Stadt- und Grundstücksentwicklungsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG . He is now chairman of the supervisory board. He is also a member of the Presidium of the ZIA , a leading association of the German real estate industry .

Political party

Gehb became a member of the CDU in 1987. From 1994 to 2006 he was chairman of the CDU district association Kassel-Stadt; since 1996 he has been deputy chairman of the CDU district association Kurhessen-Waldeck.

Public offices

From 1993 to 1997 Gehb was mayor of the city of Kassel, responsible for the areas of waste management, environmental protection, transport, law and order, fire protection, sports and food monitoring.

MP

Gehb had been a member of the German Bundestag since 1998 . Since January 25, 2005, he has been chairman of the legal working group and thus also the legal policy spokesman for the CDU / CSU parliamentary group .

Jürgen Gehb was always drawn into the Bundestag via the Hesse state list. In the Bundestag election on September 27, 2009, he did not succeed in being elected as a member of the 17th Bundestag. After Holger Haibach renounced his mandate in March 2011, he could have moved back into the Bundestag as a successor, but refused, with reference to his office at the Federal Real Estate Agency.
