Jürgen Krause (born August 24, 1956 ) is a former German handball player and current trainer . His height is 1.86 m.

As a player, Krause was active for VfL Waiblingen .

Krause's first coaching stations were VfL Waiblingen II (men), SV Fellbach (women) and SG Schorndorf (men). With the female A-youth of VfL Waiblingen, Krause became German champions in 1998 and 1999. From April 2000 to the end of the 1999/2000 season he coached the women of HSG Blomberg-Lippe in the Bundesliga on an interim basis with Bärbel Pfromm . He then trained the men of TV Bittenfeld in the major league until the 2001/02 season . From 2002 to 2004 Krause was the coach of the second division women at TuS Metzingen . During the 2003/04 season he moved to the women of VfL Waiblingen in the 2nd Bundesliga. From June 2004 to October 2004 Krause was also the coach of the men of TV Oppenweiler in the regional league . In the 2006/07 season Krause rose again to the 2nd Bundesliga with the women of VfL Waiblingen, who had meanwhile been relegated to the regional league. Krause later trained the third division women of TV Möglingen for four seasons until the end of the 2012/13 season . In 2014, Krause took over as coach of the women of SC Korb in the upper league and rose with them to the 3rd division in 2015. In the 2017/18 season , SC Korb joined VfL Waiblingen Handball as FSG Waiblingen / Korb with Krause as coach in the 2nd Bundesliga .

Krause holds the A license as a handball coach.

Krause is a civil servant in the service of the state of Baden-Württemberg . He is the father of handball player Nadine Krause . Nadine trained under her father both in Waiblingen and at HSG Blomberg-Lippe.
