Jean-François "JF" Quintin (born May 28, 1969 in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu , Québec ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player . During his career he played for the San Jose Sharks in the National Hockey League and the Starbulls Rosenheim , Moskitos Essen and DEG Metro Stars in the German Ice Hockey League .
Career
Quintin first played during his junior years from 1986 to 1989 with the Shawinigan Cataractes in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League . After scoring in his last season there in 69 games 152 points and team had been called to the Second All-Star who elected him Minnesota North Stars in the 1989 NHL Entry Draft in the fourth round at the 75th position. Then he moved to the IHL - farm team of the North Stars to the Kalamazoo Wings . From there he was in the 1991 NHL Dispersal Draft to the San Jose Sharks , who went into their first NHL season.
The French-Canadian competed in the entire preparation for the 1991/92 season with the team and led the same in preparation with four goals. After a serious knee injury, however, he fell out until the end of the season and could only play eight games in which he scored three goals. Then he was ordered to the Kansas City Blades , the Sharks farm team, to support the team in the playoffs. With twelve points in 13 games, he made a significant contribution to winning the Turner Cup . In the 1992/93 season Quintin first returned to the Sharks and ran in 14 games in which he scored seven points. Nevertheless, the left winger could not prevail in the NHL and played the following five seasons in the IHL with the Blades.
After his contract expired in 1998, Quintin moved to Slovenia for a year at HDD Olimpija Ljubljana , where he was able to celebrate the championship title. He let his career end in the DEL. From 1999 to 2003 he played for Starbulls Rosenheim , Moskitos Essen and DEG Metro Stars in a total of 194 games.
