Ja'akov Zur

Ja'akov Zur ( Hebrew יַעֲקֹב צוּר, born Jaʿakov Steinberg יַעֲקֹב שְׁטַיְינָבֶּרְג, Born April 4, 1937 in Haifa , League of Nations mandate for Palestine ) is a former Israeli politician .

Zur studied Biblical Sciences and History at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. From 1955 to 1957 he was part of the Jotvata settlement group and from 1957 he was a member of the kibbutz Netiv HaLamed-Heh . He also worked as a teacher in Givat Brenner and in Kfar Menachem , later became director of the HaTnuah HaKibbutzit from 1972 to 1974. He was also Minister of Health from 1984 to 1988 and Minister of Agriculture from 1988 to 1990 and from 1991 to 1992 he was Minister for the Reception of Immigrants .
