Jack Wrangler
Jack Wrangler (* 11. July 1946 in Beverly Hills as John Robert Stillman , † 7. April 2009 in New York City ) was an American actor , porn actor and film director .
Life
Wrangler's father was film producer Robert Stillman , who made films such as Between Women and Ropes , Boots and Saddles , Second Chorus, and Home of the Brave , and produced television series such as Bonanza . His mother was Ruth Clark Stillman, a musical dancer. Wrangler began his film career as a child on the television series The Faith of Our Children . Wrangler claims to have noticed his homosexuality when he was ten . After finishing school in California, Wrangler studied acting at Northwestern University , Evanston , Illinois .
During the 1970s, Wrangler appeared in various films and plays. He also appeared under his pseudonym Jack Wrangler as a porn actor in several gay films, such as Kansas City Trucking Co. , Hot House , Sex Machine or A Night At The Adonis . As a porn actor, he was also active in straight porn films such as Jack and Jill , Roommates and The Devil in Miss Jones 2 . Through his films as a porn actor, he became an icon of the gay civic movement in the United States in the 1970s. In 1985 Wrangler wrote the book for the musical I Love You, Jimmy Valentine . In the 1980s, Wrangler starred in the comedy Soul Survivor .
In 2008 a documentary called Wrangler: Anatomy of an Icon was published about the life and career of Wrangler.
Wrangler was married to the American singer Margaret Whiting .
