Jackie Wong Siew Cheer (born July 4, 1992 ) is a Malaysian hammer thrower .

Career

Jackie Wong Siew Cheer gained his first international experience at the 2010 Junior Asian Championships in Hanoi , where he finished sixth with 61.08 m. In 2011 he was at the Asian Championships in Kobe with 52.97 m eleventh and won at the Southeast Asian Games in Palembang with 57.04 m, the bronze medal behind the Thai Tantipong Phetchaiya and Arneil Ferrera from the Philippines. Two years later he reached sixth place at the Islamic Solidarity Games with a width of 59.53 m and again won the bronze medal behind Phetchaiya and Ferrera at the Southeast Asian Games in Naypyidaw with a new national record of 59.75 m. In 2014 he took part in the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow for the first time and was eliminated there with 59.24 m in qualification. The following year he finished eleventh at the Asian Championships in Wuhan with 59.76 m and placed 14th at the Summer Universiade in Gwangju with 63.84 m. Before that, he won the bronze medal behind the Filipino Caleb John Stuart and Phetchaiya at the Southeast Asian Games in Singapore with 61.18 m . Two years later he finished eighth at the Asian Championships in Bhubaneswar with 64.84 m and then won the Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur with a new player record of 65.90 m . In 2018 he again took part in the Commonwealth Games in the Australian Gold Coast , where he came 14th with 64.35 m. At the end of August he took part in the Asian Games in Jakarta for the first time and finished seventh with 65.92 m.

In 2019 he finished eighth at the Asian Championships in Doha with a new national record of 67.01 m. In August he improved his national record at the Malaysian Championships to 68.22 m and won the silver medal behind the Thai Kittipong Boonmawan at the Southeast Asian Games in Capas in December with 63.83 m .

In 2012 and 2013, as well as in 2018 and 2019, Siew Cheer was the Malaysian hammer throw champion.
