Jackson Berenguer Prado (born May 4, 1918 in Tucano , Bahia , Brazil , † February 8, 2005 ) was a Brazilian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Paulo Afonso .

Life

Jackson Berenguer Prado received on 13 June 1943, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

Pope Pius XII appointed him on April 16, 1958 first bishop of the diocese Vitória da Conquista founded the previous year . The Archbishop of São Salvador da Bahia , Augusto Álvaro Cardinal da Silva , donated him episcopal ordination on August 3 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Botucatu , Henrique Golland Trindade , and the Bishop of Montes Claros , José Alves de Sà Trindade .

On September 24, 1962, Pope John XXIII appointed him . the first bishop of the newly established diocese Feira de Santana . He attended the first, third and fourth sessions of the Second Vatican Council as a council father.

Pope Paul VI appointed him on October 8, 1971 as the first bishop of the diocese Paulo Afonso established in the previous month . On August 17, 1983, Pope John Paul II accepted his early resignation.
