Jaime Spengler
Jaime Spengler OFM (born September 6, 1960 in Gaspar ) is a Brazilian religious and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Porto Alegre .
Life
Jaime Spengler joined the Order of the Franciscans (OFM) , made temporal profession on January 20, 1982 and perpetual profession on December 8, 1985 . On November 17, 1990, he was ordained a priest .
Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on November 10, 2010 titular bishop of Patara and auxiliary bishop in Porto Alegre . The Apostolic Nuncio in Brazil , Lorenzo Baldisseri , donated him episcopal ordination on February 5 of the next year ; Co- consecrators were Dadeus Grings , Archbishop of Porto Alegre, and Leonardo Ulrich Steiner, OFM, Prelate of São Félix . As a motto he chose IN CRUCE GLORIARI .
On September 18, 2013, Pope Francis appointed him Archbishop of Porto Alegre. The inauguration followed on November 15 of the same year.
