Jake Brown (born March 28, 1992 in Edina ) is an American biathlete.

Life and origin

Jake Brown is from Saint Paul in the US state of Minnesota and was already starting his parents with skiing at the age of four in the garden and drove in ninth grade and race. He studied biology at the University of Saint Olaf and graduated with a bachelor's degree in 2015 . After spending a year at Northern Michigan University in Marquette , he switched to biathlon in 2016 and moved to Lake Placid to train there.

Career

Jake Brown competed in his first international biathlon race in 2017 at the IBU Cup in Kontiolahti, Finland . This was followed by a deployment at the IBU Cup in Otepää and a year later in Martell and participation in the 2018 European Biathlon Championships in Ridnaun . In the winter of 2018/19 he made his World Cup debut, in the mixed relay race at the Home World Cup in Soldier Hollow he reached ninth place together with Alex Howe , Joanne Reid and Clare Egan and thus his first top 10 placement in the World Cup. Shortly after, he also took part in the Biathlon World Championships 2019 in Sweden Ostersund part. In the 2019/20 season, too , he mostly ran in the World Cup and also took part in the 2020 Biathlon World Championships in Antholz . While he mostly did not reach the points in the individual races, he was again able to celebrate two top 10 results in relay races.
