Thomas Ziesch

Thomas Ziesch (born April 11, 1971 in Hoyerswerda , Hoyerswerda district ) is a German actor .

Life

Family and education

Thomas Ziesch comes from a German- Sorbian family and grew up in a small town near Bautzen . The family did not speak Sorbian at home , but Ziesch learned the language in kindergarten and school, where he had two or three language lessons a week. At the age of eleven he was a member of the “AK11 National Football Team ”. However, his parents were against admission to a sports school, so that Ziesch finally trained as a hotel specialist (catering specialist ) from 1987 to 1989 .

At the age of 13/14 he was on stage for the first time at the German-Sorbian People's Theater and gained his first theater experience. A lecturer at the “Hans Otto” Leipzig Theater Academy , who worked as a talent scout, discovered him there and put him in touch. In 1987 he successfully passed the entrance examination at the Leipzig Theater School, but initially did his training and completed his basic military service as a soldier in the National People's Army , which he was able to finish early after twelve months due to the political change .

From 1990 to 1994 Ziesch completed his acting studies at the University of Music and Theater "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" in Leipzig , which he completed with a degree as a "graduate actor".

After completing his studies, he was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Schauspiel Leipzig from 1994 to 1997 . From 1997 to 2007 he was a permanent member of the theater ensemble at Theater Bremen . He has been working as a freelance actor since 2007.

Ziesch played over 80 roles at the theater under the direction a. a. by Johanna Schall , Armin Petras , Konstanze Lauterbach , Uwe Wand , Horst Ruprecht , Johann Kresnik , Thomas Bischoff , David Mouchtar-Samorai , Lukas Langhoff , Andrej Woron , Karin Henkel and Thirza Bruncken .
