Jakob Daniel Hoffmann

Jakob Daniel Hoffmann (born September 26, 1808 in Lübeck ; † January 29, 1885 ibid) was a German writer .

Life

After attending high school in Lübeck, Hoffmann studied Protestant theology and philology in Jena , Berlin , Heidelberg and Munich . During his studies he became a member of the Jenaische Burschenschaft / Arminia in 1831 . In 1831 he was awarded a Dr. phil. PhD . After his studies he worked as a private scholar in Thuringia and then as a teacher at a private school in French-speaking Switzerland . After spending some time in Thuringia again, he went to Russia as an educator in 1838 . He later worked as a preacher in Petrópolis , Brazil , and then as a hospitalist in Lübeck.
