Jakob Knab
Jakob Knab (born June 18, 1951 in Waidhofen ) is a German author.
Life
Knab studied Catholic theology at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and Linguistics at the University of Edinburgh . Knab is a teacher of English and Catholic religion and was director of studies at the Jakob Brucker -Gymnasium in Kaufbeuren until 2015 . He became known through criticism of the tradition of the Bundeswehr , especially at a barracks in Füssen that was named after Eduard Dietl until 1995 . Publications can be found predominantly in the areas of history politics , culture of remembrance and maintenance of tradition. In addition to his work as a writer, he also publishes articles in the magazines Ossietzky and antifa , which is published by the Association of Victims of the Nazi Regime VVN-BDA , and in the daily newspaper Neues Deutschland . Knab is the founder and spokesman of the “Initiative against False Glory”. In the past he was a consultant at the anti-fascist information, documentation and archive office in Munich aida . In addition, Knab was next to u. a. Ulla Jelpke , Tobias Pflüger and Jürgen Rose are co-authors of the black book on security and military policy in Germany by the Left parliamentary group . Ralph Giordano wrote of Knab that he was "one of the rare everyday heroes of the republic".
