history

At the beginning of the 15th century, the Schweidnitz patrician Johann Plazmeister was the owner of the village. His heirs sold it in 1407 to Nikolaus Paschke called Mühlheim. From the Mühlheimers it came to the knight George Czettriz auf Fürstenstein and in 1457 to Hans von Peterswalde, called Bresnicz auf Schwengfeld. In 1548 it was owned by Siegmund von Seidlitz and in 1568 by Daniel von Seidlitz, who was still managing it in 1594. Christoph Ernst von Sommerfeld and Falkenhain followed, his son Franz Albrecht von Sommerfeld in 1685 and his son of the same name in 1691. In 1783 the owner was Karl Sylvius von Gellhorn and Petersdorf.

After the first Silesian War , Jakobsdorf fell to Prussia and was incorporated into the Schweidnitz district. In 1785 the village had 1 farm, 6 gardeners and 57 residents. In 1895 53 people lived in Jakobsdorf, of which 25 were male and 28 female, 30 were Protestant and 3 were Catholic. Jakobsdorf was evangelically parish to the Friedenskirche Schweidnitz and catholic to the city parish church Schweidnitz. The children attended school in Grunau. Jakobsdorf formed its own district.

When it was taken over by Soviet troops and the Polish administration in 1945, Jakobsdorf was renamed Jakubów . Most of the German residents were expelled and replaced by Poles .
