Justin Alexander "Jalen" Parmele (* thirtieth December 1985 in Midland , Michigan ) is a former American American football poker players. He played eight seasons as running back in the National Football League (NFL).

Career

Parmele played college football at the University of Toledo for the Toledo Rockets from 2004 to 2007 . In his first season he played in nine games, where he scored 187 yards and three touchdowns in 42 runs . As a sophomore, he scored 294 yards in 11 games as a backup running back. As a junior he ran 1,170 yards and was elected to the All- MAC first team for the first time . In his final season, he had 1,511 yards run and 14 touchdowns.

In the 2008 NFL Draft , Parmele was selected in the sixth round by the Miami Dolphins . There he made the jump into the 53-man squad, but was inactive for the first three games before he was released on September 24, 2008. However, he was later engaged for the Dolphins' Practice Squad . In December 2008, the Baltimore Ravens signed Parmele out of the Practice Squad. With the Ravens he scored only seven runs in 24 games and was mainly used in the special teams . In 2009, he scored seven special team tackles and was the kick returner on several occasions, with an average return of 31.4 yards. That season he also had five runs for 17 yards. In 2010, Parmele didn't run a single time, but carried back 24 kicks for 562 yards. Before the beginning of the 2011 regular season , he was released.

On May 1, 2012, the Jacksonville Jaguars enlisted Parmele. Due to injuries to other running backs, Parmele saw more working time with the Jaguars. He scored 40 runs for 143 yards. On November 28, 2012, however, he was himself placed on the Injured Reserve List due to an injury . On May 8, 2013, the Tennessee Titans signed Parmele. There he was released before the beginning of the regular season. On May 27, 2014, the Arizona Cardinals signed him . The Cardinals released Parmele as part of the downsizing at the end of August 2014. On September 18, 2014, the Cardinals again committed Parmele to replace Jonathan Dwyer after his arrest. For the Cardinals he ran once for no space gain before he was released on September 24, 2014. On August 3, 2015, the Cleveland Browns signed him . At the end of August 2015, he was released again.

Play style

After college, Parmele was considered a fast, but unexpressive runner who had the ability to break tackles and fight to gain space. He was considered a good blocker, but a bad passport recipient. In the NFL, his skills in the special teams were particularly praised. In addition, his skills as a passport catcher were highlighted.
