James Clugnet (born December 4, 1996 ) is a British cross-country skier .

Career

Clugnet started internationally for the first time in February 2013 at the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival in Predeal and took 72nd place over 7.5 km classic, 65th place over 10 km freestyle and 56th place in sprint. The following year, at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 2014 in Fleimstal, he achieved 82nd place in the skiathlon , 70th place over 10 km classic and 62nd place in sprint. At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2015 in Almaty he came 66th place over 10 km freestyle, 64th place in skiathlon and 60th place in sprint and at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2016 in Râșnov on 69th place. Place over 15 km freestyle, 63rd place over 10 km classic and 45th place in sprint. In December 2016, he started in Goms for the first time in the Alpencup and achieved 54th place in the sprint. The following month he ran at the 2017 U23 World Championships in Soldier Hollow to 48th place over 15 km freestyle and 41st place in sprint. At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2017 in Lahti , he finished 75th in the sprint and 67th place over 15 km classic. At the beginning of the 2017/18 season he made his debut in Ruka in the cross-country skiing world cup and came in 118th place in the sprint and 112th place over 15 km classic. At the U23 World Championships in Goms in 2018 , he achieved 63rd place over 15 km classic and 13th place in the sprint. In December 2018 he got his first World Cup points with 28th place in the sprint in Davos . At the U23 World Championships 2019 in Lahti he finished 55th in the 15 km freestyle and 51st place in the sprint and at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2019 in Seefeld in Tyrol he finished 25th in the sprint and together with Andrew Young in 13th place in team sprint.
