James Kendrick Williams

James Kendrick Williams (born September 5, 1936 in Athertonville ) is Old Bishop of Lexington .

Life

James Kendrick Williams was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Louisville on May 25, 1963 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Auxiliary Bishop in Covington and Titular Bishop of Catula on April 15, 1984 . The Bishop of Covington, William Anthony Hughes , he donated the 19 June of the same year consecration ; Co- consecrators were Thomas Cajetan Kelly OP , Archbishop of Louisville, and Richard Henry Ackerman CSSp , Bishop Emeritus of Covington.

On January 14, 1988 he was appointed first bishop of the diocese of Lexington , established on the same date , and on March 2 of the same year he was appointed to the office. He resigned from his office on June 11, 2002.
