Ronald William Gainer (born August 24, 1947 in Pottsville ) is Bishop of Harrisburg .

Life

The Bishop of Allentown , Joseph Mark McShea , ordained him on May 19, 1973 priests .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Lexington on December 13, 2002 . The Archbishop of Louisville , Thomas Cajetan Kelly OP , donated him episcopal ordination on February 22 of the next year ; Co- consecrators were Joseph Edward Kurtz , Bishop of Knoxville , and Edward Peter Cullen , Bishop of Allentown. As a motto he chose Ex de plenitudine ... gratiam pro gratia .

On January 24, 2014, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Harrisburg . The inauguration took place on March 19 of the same year.
