Career
James Sixsmith began his career as a hockey player in the team of the College of the Holy Cross , for which he was active from 2003 to 2007 in the National Collegiate Athletic Association . The attacker then made his professional ice hockey debut for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers from the American Hockey League towards the end of the 2006/07 season . In the following three seasons he played in the AHL for the Milwaukee Admirals and again the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, and in the ECHL for the Cincinnati Cyclones and Utah Grizzlies , where he won the Kelly Cup with Cincinnati in the 2007/08 season .
For the 2010/11 season Sixsmith was signed by the Kölner Haien from the German Ice Hockey League . In June 2011 he accepted an offer from HK Jesenice from the Austrian ice hockey league . In November 2011, the American moved to Lørenskog IK in the Norwegian GET-ligaen , where he made strong offensive performances up to the end of the 2013/14 season, receiving individual awards especially in the 2011/12 season; including the election to the Norwegian All-Star-Team 2011/12. On June 1, 2014, his move to the Swedish club Södertälje SK was announced. There he could hardly show his offensive talent and only managed to score six points (three goals and three assists) in 21 league games. He was therefore released at the end of November 2014.
