Ian Cameron

Ian Cameron (actually Donald Gordon Payne ; born January 3, 1924 in London ; died August 22, 2018 in Redhill , Surrey ), also known under the pseudonyms James Vance Marshall and Donald Gordon , was a British writer . He lived in Surrey, England and had four sons and a daughter.

As James Vance Marshall, Payne has published books such as A River Ran Out of Eden (1962) and White-Out (1999). His most famous book is Walkabout , first published in 1959. As Ian Cameron he published The Lost (1961), later dramatized by Disney as an island at the end of the world , and The Mountain at the Bottom of the World and The White Ship (1975).
