Jamie Campbell-Walter (born December 16, 1972 in Oban , Scotland ) is a British racing driver .

Career

Jamie Campbell-Walter started his motorsport career in 1993 in the British Formula Vauxhall Junior Winter Series , which he finished second overall in 1993. In 1994, he finished third in Formula Vauxhall Junior. In 1995 he moved to the higher- ranking Formula Vauxhall and finished 5th overall in their classification. However, he was denied another formula career.

After a year off, Jamie Campbell-Walter switched to sports car racing in 1997. In 1997, he won two races in the TVR Tuscan Challenge and finished fourth in the championship. In addition, he completed a few races in the British GT Championship , where he won one race. In 1999 he moved to Lister and won the British GT Championship together with Julian Bailey .

After occasional participation in the FIA GT Championship in recent years, Jamie Campbell-Walter and Julian Bailey took part in this championship in 2000 with a Lister Storm GT . With five wins they dominated the racing series and became world champions. In the following years Jamie Campbell-Walter won seven more victories in this championship with changing partners. In 2004 he moved to Creation Autosportif after the announcement of Lister's withdrawal from the FIA ​​GT Championship .
