Jana Vollmer (* 5. May 1973 as Jana Pechová in Mladá Boleslav , Czechoslovakia ) is a former Czechoslovak, Czech and German Volleyball -Nationalspielerin and German beach volleyball player .

Career indoor volleyball

Jana Pechová started playing volleyball in 1987 at the school and in the club in Liberec, Czechoslovakia, and was runner-up in 1989. From 1988 to 1992 she was a player in the Czechoslovak youth and junior national team with around 150 appearances. From 1989 to 1994 she played in the Czechoslovak (since 1993 Czech) women's national team with over 70 appearances, placing fifth at the 1991 European Championships in Italy and second at the 1993 European Championships in her own country. Jana Pechová played from 1991 to 1993 for the Italian club US Sirio Perugia , with whom she became Italian runner-up in 1991 and Italian cup winner and vice European cup winner in 1992 . In 1993 she moved to the German Bundesliga for TSG Tübingen , where Jana's father was a coach at the time. Here she also met her husband Andreas Vollmer (then co-trainer in Tübingen). In 1995 she became German runner- up with the USC Münster . In 1999 she also had six appearances in the German national volleyball team .

In 1995 Jana Vollmer moved to Switzerland, where she played with Kanti Schaffhausen , BTV Luzern , Glaronia Glarus , again Kanti Schaffhausen and Volley Franches-Montagnes until 2004 . During this time she was twice Swiss runner-up and three times Swiss volleyball player of the year.

Career beach volleyball

At the same time as indoor volleyball, Jana Vollmer started her beach volleyball career in 1997. She was German runner-up in 1998 (with Ines Pianka ) and 2003 (with Andrea Ahmann ) as well as European runner-up in 2000 (with Danja Müsch ) and 2003 (with Andrea Ahmann).

Knee problems

Jana Vollmer's volleyball career was interrupted several times due to problems with her knee. In 2005 she ended her career after 18 years.

Private

Jana Vollmer lives in Büsingen in the district of Konstanz near the border with the canton of Schaffhausen . She is married to volleyball coach Andreas Vollmer and has a daughter, Matilda.
