Jared Reiner (* 8. April 1982 in Mitchell , South Dakota ) is a retired American basketball player at the position of the center .

Reiner began his professional career in 2004 with the Portland Trail Blazers in the NBA Summer League. He played his first regular NBA game during the 2004/2005 season with the Chicago Bulls . The next season he was under contract with the Phoenix Suns , but did not make a game due to injury. This was followed by a short-term engagement in the D-League and in Spain, until he was finally signed in February 2008 by the then champion Brose Baskets from Bamberg . In the pre-season 2008/09 he was in the extended squad of the Philadelphia 76ers , but received no contract and moved back to Germany in December 2008 to the Eisbären in Bremerhaven . The Eisbären were knocked off bottom of the table that season, while Reiner struggled with injuries and only played 12 games for the club. As before with the 76ers, fate repeated itself for Reiner in the fall of 2009, when he again failed to make the leap into the final season squad with the Minnesota Timberwolves . After a further engagement in the NBA Development League as well as in the Puerto Rican BSN , he was hired for the 2010/11 season with BBL promoted BBC Bayreuth .
