Jaroslav Kovačič (born July 19, 1984 in Krško ) is a Slovenian triathlete and multiple national champion (2014, 2015). He is Vice European Champion on the long distance triathlon (2015).

Career

In 2011, Kovačič finished 19th at the World Triathlon Long Distance Championship.

In 2014 he became the Slovenian champion on the short distance triathlon and he was able to successfully defend this title in 2015. In 2015, he also became national champion in the short distance duathlon.

In September 2015 he was runner-up in the European long distance triathlon as part of the Challenge Weymouth . The Challenge Almere-Amsterdam he was in September 2018 after two third ranks in the previous two years with 7:55:44 hours in a personal best on the long distance to decide for themselves and set a new course record.

In May 2019, the then 34-year-old finished third at the World Triathlon Long Distance Championship in Spain. In September he finished second behind the Australian Cameron Litter at Ironman Italy .
