Jason Lundmark (born November 9, 1984 in Edmonton , Alberta ) is a retired Canadian ice hockey player who last played for the Colorado Eagles in the Central Hockey League . His older brother, Jamie Lundmark, was also a professional ice hockey player.

Career

Lundmark began his ice hockey career with the Moose Jaw Warriors , a junior team from the Western Hockey League . In three years and over 100 season games in the WHL, he scored 34 points and spent over 100 minutes in the penalty box. He completed his last junior season for the Spruce Grove Saints in the Alberta Junior Hockey League , where he scored 14 goals and 37 assists in 62 games . He was then appointed to the AJHL All-Star Team and finished second in the election for the best defender in the league.

In July 2005 he got a scholarship to the University of Windsor , where he should go on the ice for the Windsor Lancers . A short time later, the Colorado Eagles from the Central Hockey League presented him with a first professional contract offer, which he signed in October 2005. On November 2, 2005 he scored his first goal as a professional for the Eagles, but lost his team against the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs with 1: 6.

The EC Peiting was Lundmark's first stop outside of North America. In the 2006/07 season he scored 13 goals for his team and gave 17 assists with 70 penalty minutes, making him the tenth-best defender in the league. Peiting reached the play-offs , but they failed in the first round at SC Riessersee . After the season, Jason Lundmark decided to move to the Bundesliga relegated Dresdner Eislöwen . At the time, managing director Jan Tábor assessed him as follows: “Jason Lundmark is a young player and very talented. He has a good shot, is strong defensively and always plays hard. Jason wants to develop further and move up - he sees Dresden as an opportunity to prove himself here. ”In the course of the following season he developed into a leading player within the Dresden team and was one of the top defenders with the highest points. At the end of the season he was selected by the magazine Hockey News to league defender of the year selected. In addition, he achieved promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga with the Eislöwen. His contract in Dresden was extended a short time later, but he could not really prevail in the second division. After many defeats and the commitment of more contingent players, the management of the Eislöwen decided in early December 2008 to take a leave of absence from Lundmark.

From December 9, 2008, Lundmark was under contract with Starbulls Rosenheim , which was initially limited to the end of January 2009. He later got a contract extension and stayed with the Starbulls until the end of the game year before moving to the Colorado Eagles in the Central Hockey League in fall 2009 . There he ended his active career in the summer of 2010.
