Jasper is a city and seat of the county seat of Jasper County in the US state of Texas in the United States .

The city is located almost in the far east of Texas on US Highways 96 and 190 , is about 25 km from Louisiana and has a total area of ​​26.9 km², of which 0.1 km² is water.

The place was named after William Jasper , a hero of the American Revolutionary War.
