Jefferson is the county capital and seat of the county seat of Marion County in the US state of Texas in the United States .

The city is located in northeast Texas, not far from the borders of Arkansas and Louisiana on US Highway 59 and has a total area of 11.4 km², of which 0.1 km² is water.
