Jauhen Sjarhejewitsch Abramenka ( Belarusian Яўген Сяргеевіч Абраменка ; Russian Евгений Сергеевич Абраменко / Yevgeny Sergeyevich Abramenko * 26. February 1987 in Vitebsk , Byelorussian Soviet Socialist Republic , Soviet Union ) is a former Belarusian biathlete .

Jauhen Abramenka lives and trains in Vitebsk and starts for the Dinamo Police Sports Club. He has been practicing biathlon since 1998 and has been part of the extended national team of Belarus since 2005. He contested his first international races since 2004 as part of the Junior European Cup. In 2005, the young Belarusian ran the junior biathlon world championships in Kontiolahti and just missed out on a medal in fourth place in the sprint. The following year he won the relay bronze medal in Presque Isle . At the Junior European Championship shortly afterwards in Langdorf , Abramenka was in the top ten in all races, but was never better than sixth. The most successful Junior World Championships were those of 2007, where he won gold in individual singles in Martell ahead of Anton Schipulin and Klemen Bauer . The best result at the European Junior Championships in Bansko was fourth place with the relay. Abramenkas last year in the juniors ended with the Junior World Championships 2008 in Ruhpolding and the Junior European Championships in Nové Město na Moravě . In Germany he was in the top 20 in all four races, in the Czech Republic he was in the top 15, and he was again fourth in the season. In 2008 he won a relay race in Osrblie in the Junior European Cup .

Abramenka has been competing in the biathlon world cup since the 2008/09 season . He contested his first races at the start of the season in Östersund . In the individual, he was 74th in the sprint 80. The Belarusian achieved his first good result only a little later in Hochfilzen , when he was eighth with his country's relay. In Pyeongchang , the Belarusian took part in the 2009 Biathlon World Championships and was used in the sprint, where he was 85th and 19th with the Belarusian relay. In the first race after the World Cup, an individual in Vancouver , he won his first point as 40th with his best performance in an individual race in the World Cup. In 2009 he was able to run in Pokljuka in 19th place in the individual and achieve a new best result. Jauhen Abramenka took part in the 2010 Winter Olympics. His best result was 40th in the pursuit. With the relay he finished 11th.
