Jay Hardway (* 27. April 1991 in Drunen , Netherlands as Jobke Heiblom ) is a Dutch DJ and producer who in particular through cooperation with the also Dutch DJ Martin Garrix is known. Common publications included Error 404 and Wizard . He also drew attention to himself with his solo singles Bootcamp and Wake Up .
Career
Jobke Heiblom was born in Drunen, a small town in the Netherlands. His interest in electronic music grew at a young age, and Hardway began DJing at the age of just 14. He played in smaller pubs and also started producing his own tracks. The establishments in which he played became larger and at the age of 18 he was playing in front of a larger audience in numerous clubs in his home country. Inspired by DJs like Tiësto , Afrojack , Laidback Luke and Vato Gonzalez , his feeling as well as his ideas for his own compositions developed. In the following years, some of his productions found their way onto the Internet, including the solo track Checked Out , Batmobile together with Delavita, as well as a remix of the successful single Rattle by the Dutch project Bingo Players , which supported the DJ's popularity.
In the course of 2012, the successful Dutch label " Spinnin 'Records " became aware of both Jay Hardway, who is currently 21 years old, and 16-year-old Martin Garrix . After they both signed to Spinnin ', they began working in the studio together. At the end of 2012, they finally completed the Track Registration Code . The song depicts an electro house production and quickly gained popularity. A single was released in October 2012. The song shaped the later style of both performers and has been viewed over a million times on YouTube to date. A second collaboration followed in March 2013. With Error 404 , they released their first big success on "Spinnin '-" and " Doorn Records ". The song advanced to number 16 on the Beatport charts and was on the iTunes dance charts in numerous countries for over a year. The track has over 10 million views on YouTube.
While Garrix celebrated worldwide success with Animals , Hardway began composing another track together. The basic structure of the song Wizard . Together they finished the instrumental piece in the same year and released it on December 2, 2013 via "Spinnin'-" and " Kontor Records ". Wizard represents the DJ's first worldwide success. After just a few hours, the song was in the top 10 of numerous iTunes charts, including number 4 in Germany and number 7 in Great Britain. The track also climbed high in the official singles charts, including 6th place in Belgium, 4th place in Scotland, 7th in Great Britain and other top 100 positions in over 15 countries. The official music video of the Big Room track was viewed over 120 million times within a year. "Spinnin '" announced that no previous release moved up to # 1 on the Beatport charts as quickly as Wizard . In Sweden the duo received a gold record.
In May 2014, Hardway followed up with his first official solo single. This is titled Bootcamp and contains a big room drop similar to the previous single Wizard . Bootcamp was supported by numerous great DJs such as Hardwell , Tiësto or Showtek during their performances. The single was featured in episode 162 of the " Hardwell On Air " podcast. However , the song could not follow the success of Wizard , but after only a few months the music video was clicked over 5 million times. The song Freedom was released on August 11, 2014 . The big-room-heavy track is a collaboration with Danish house DJ Mike Hawkins.
Hardway started 2015 with the release of the song Voodoo . It was created in collaboration with the Canadian DJ duo Dvbbs . As early as February 2015, previews and fan-made videos made their rounds on the Internet. Voodoo was officially played for the first time in the 202nd episode of "Hardwell On Air", but it was released at the end of 2014 in a mix of the label "Spinnin '" with the title Future Hits and was recorded numerous times from this and was called "Martin Garrix & Showtek Collab ”. Shortly after its release on March 2, 2015, the song became a club hit and received promotion from artists such as Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike , W&W and Avicii . The official music video of the track was uploaded at the same time as the publication and counted several million clicks after just one month. It became Hardway's second Beatport number one hit.
On June 26, 2015, Hardway's seventh single Wake Up was released . On June 13, 2015, he published a first teaser of the song, to which both the lead and the drop were listening. Using vocal cuts in the lead, first introduced by Martin Garrix ' Forbidden Voices and The Only Way Is Up , the song was compared to these before it was released. Nevertheless, the song received strong, positive feedback, as Jay Hardway released a progressive house track with this single for the first time and once again proved the high quality of his productions. The official music video for the track was uploaded on "Spinnin 'TV" the same day it was released and shows numerous recordings of his tour.
