Firebeatz is a Dutch DJ - and music producer - duo . It consists of Tim Benjamin Smulders (born August 14, 1985 ) and Jurre van Doeselaar (born July 7, 1987 ).
Career
The duo got to know each other while studying at the art college of Tilburg University . On November 27, 2008 they presented their first double single, which was created in collaboration with the Dutch producer Mell Tierra and was released on the record label "Masal (Azucar)". The single consisted of the two songs See You Bounce and Ready To Go . After two collaborations with the musician JoeySuki on the label "Audiodamage Records" and a double release on "Be Yourself Music", the Dutch record label " Spinnin 'Records " became aware of the DJ duo.
In the following years the project gained popularity. With their remix of the song Good Time by Ron Carroll and Alex Kenji, they reached the Beatport charts for the first time in the summer of 2012. In September 2012 they succeeded in doing this with their solo single Dear New York , which they recorded together with Dutch DJ and producer Schella. Only a short time later Firebeatz released the song Here We F * cking Go on Hardwell record label " Revealed Recordings ", with which they stylistically joined the growing big room scene. The successor single Disque was also based on complextro sounds.
After reaching the top 10 of the Beatport charts in 2013 with the songs Wicked , a big room production with Schella and the more calmly designed track Wonderful , they released two of their greatest successes to date in 2014. Rockin made the start. The song was produced in collaboration with the Dutch progressive house duo DubVision and advanced to the top 5 on Beatport and reached over 2 million views on YouTube. Together with the Dutch youngster Martin Garrix , who celebrated his breakthrough with Animals a few months earlier , the single Helicopter was released on February 17, 2014 . With this they achieved a placement in the singles charts of several countries, including France and Belgium. The song also made it into the German iTunes charts.
Together with the Dutch producer Tiësto they recorded the song Last Train , which was sung by the New Zealand singer Ladyhawke . This was included on his studio album A Town Called Paradise . No Heroes followed as a collaboration with American musician KSHMR and singer Luciana. The music video on YouTube reached over 22 million views. They also released a new version of the song Calabria by Rune RK from 2003. This release also made it to the top of the Beatport charts and developed into a great festival success. I Can't Understand could follow on from the success of Calabria , although the style of the song in the form of a future house production was very different from its predecessors.
In the following year Firebeatz released the single Rage, a follow-up of the song Guitar Track , a collaboration with Sander van Doorn from 2013. Here they also got the Dutch youngster Julian Jordan to the side. A follow-up to Rockin with DubVision was also published. Here the singer Ruby Prophet contributed her singing. After the single Samir's Theme , a new edition of the song of the same name by DJ Debonair Samir from 2007, a single was released for the first time on Tiësto's record label. This is called Sky High and has also been revised by Tiësto.
In 2017 Firebeatz released the song Show Me Your Love , with which they found themselves in the future bounce genre for the first time. The song was recorded together with the Dutch DJ duo Lucas & Steve and only a few months later contained a follow-up in the form of the song Keep Your Head Up , in which the English acoustic band Little Giants also participated. The single achieved a placement in the Nederlandse Top 40 . Another commercial single followed in February 2018 with the song Everything , which was composed with Peppermint and singer Aidan O'Brien.
The duo entered the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs at number 56 in 2014 . In the following year they reached number 66. They were last listed in 2016 at number 77.
