Jean Grothe

Jean Grothe (born August 6, 1865 in Roermond , Duchy of Limburg , German Confederation ; † 1924 in Dormagen , Rhine Province ) was a German genre , landscape and still life painter and lithographer from the Düsseldorf School .

Life

Grothe studied at the Düsseldorf Art Academy from 1887 to 1889 , after having been a student of Albert Zimmermann in Munich . Hugo Crola , Heinrich Lauenstein and Adolf Schill were his teachers at the Düsseldorf Academy . From 1897 to 1901 Grothe was a member of the Malkasten artists' association .
