Jean Jullien (born March 14, 1983 in Cholet ) is a French graphic artist , illustrator , video artist and photographer who lives and works in London . On the night after the terrorist attacks on November 13, 2015 in Paris, he painted the symbolic picture Peace for Paris with a writing brush and published a photo of it on Twitter and Instagram, which spread worldwide within a few hours.

life and work

Jullien grew up in Nantes and studied graphic design in Quimper . He then went to London , where he completed further degrees - in 2008 at the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design and in 2010 at the Royal College of Art . Peace for Paris
