Jean Krier

Jean Krier (born January 2, 1949 in Luxembourg ; † January 12, 2013 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) was a teacher and German-speaking writer from Luxembourg.

life and work

Jean Krier studied German and English at the University of Freiburg and then worked as a German teacher in Luxembourg.

In 1995 he made his debut with the poetry book Breton Islands . Krier's poems have been published in numerous anthologies and literary journals. In 2011 he received the Adelbert von Chamisso Prize for the poetry book Herzens Lust Spiele, published by Poetenladen in Leipzig . The jury's justification said: His German-language carpets of words, which he subtly sprinkles with French sprinkles, are fed by moments of experience and reading experiences.
