Jennifer "Jenny" Harß (born July 14, 1987 in Füssen ) is a German ice hockey goalkeeper who has been playing for EHC Königsbrunn in the men's Bavarian league since 2018 .

Career

Harß began playing ice hockey at an early age together with her brother and father, who was also an ice hockey coach. She went through all youth and junior teams of EV Füssen . She also played soccer and tennis in her childhood, but ultimately chose ice hockey and quickly developed into an outstanding goal woman.

Between 2001 and 2004 she was active for ERC Sonthofen and SC Riessersee in the women's Bundesliga . Between 2004 and 2008 she went on the ice for the ECDC Memmingen in the Bundesliga and was a member of the Bundeswehr sports promotion group. In the 2008/09 season she was a regular goalkeeper at EV Pfronten , for whom she played in the men's Bayern League and was one of the best goalkeepers in the league.

After her engagement at EV Pfronten, Harß moved to the NCAA for the Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs for the 2009/10 season . She received a full scholarship from the university and is studying International Management. At the Bulldogs she was the back-up goalkeeper of the Swedish national goalkeeper Kim Martin Hasson and in 2010 she won the NCAA's final tournament, the Frozen Four . At the end of the season she was one of the best goalkeepers in the WCHA.

When she finished her studies in 2012, she left Minnesota and returned to Germany. She played one season for ECDC Memmingen in the German Bundesliga, before Harß has been playing for ERC Sonthofen in the men's ice hockey Bayernliga since the beginning of the 2013/2014 season . With the ERC Sonthofen she was Bavarian champion in her first season in Sonthofen and rose with the club in the Oberliga Süd. After three seasons in the major league at ERC, with which she made it to the semi-finals in the 2016/17 season, she moved back to the Bayernliga at EHC Königsbrunn.

International

Harß bears in the German national team , the jersey number 30. They played at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin and the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi for Germany.
